Popular Questions
Below are some of the questions we are asked about our
product and service. If you do not find the answer you are looking for,
please contact us by email.
Do you accept foreign orders?
We are sorry. At this time, we are only fulfilling orders to US addresses.
How do I pay?
After you have chosen your design and placed an order, we will contact you
by email about the availability of your requested design. We will also ask
you to contact us promptly by telephone with a credit card number so that
your kippot will be purchased and set aside for you while we prepare the
labels. We prefer payment by American Express, but we can accept VISA and
MasterCard. If you don’t have a credit card, we can also send a request
for payment to you through PayPal (www.PayPal.com).
Once payment has been received, we will give you further instructions on
how to design your personalized label so that we may typeset a prototype
for your approval.
Do I pay sales tax?
Kippah King is located in Oakland, California, so we are required to
collect 8.75% sales tax for all California orders only.
How variable is the quality?
These kippot are hand crocheted from cotton yarn. This means that each
kippah is an individual and different from the others. They vary slightly
in quality, in size, in colors, in the tightness of the weave, and in the
adherence to the design shown on this website. If you look carefully
enough, you may find imperfections. If the kippah has a light base color,
it may have some light discoloration due to the extensive handling during
its production. However, we have a very high satisfaction level with our
customers - once they understand that these are not machine-manufactured.
What size are the kippot?
We aim to provide a standard size of approximately six inches diameter,
however this varies somewhat. We do not, at this time, offer different
sizes as we find that this size satisfies most customers.
Can I get a sample kippah to review the
design and colors?
We do not send out sample kippot. Our website has very good pictures of
the kippot with detailed color descriptions. Since color and design vary
slightly when they are handmade, the samples would not always present a
perfectly reliable indication of what to expect.
What is the charge for the personalized
labels?
Nothing! The cost to produce and attach these
cloth labels is included in your kippot price.
How do you protect my privacy?
All data collected on you is used only to fulfill your order to Kippah
King. We never sell or distribute your information. We will allow you to
opt in to an emailing list for future announcements - but only at your
option.
Do you allow returns?
Because our products are personalized, we do not accept returns. If there
is a dissatisfaction with our products, we will try to work with you to
clear up the matter, which should allow us to do better in the future. In
any case, our liability for any problems with the orders will be limited
to the full amount you paid us for the order.
Have your kippot been tested for shatnez?
Jews are forbidden by the Torah from wearing any garment that contains
wool and linen together, a combination known as “shatnez”. Our kippot and
labels have been tested and found free of shatnez by Rabbi Yosef Sayagh,
Co-Director of the National Committee of Shatnez Testers and Researchers
in Lakewood, New Jersey.

What does shipping cost?
Our base rate for shipping and handling by USPS Priority Mail is $22.00.
This rate is applied to all orders based upon an average order size. This
rate includes insurance for the full value of the shipment, as well as
delivery confirmation. If you will require express shipping, we can
arrange it for a surcharge. We endeavor to work with enough lead time to
avoid last minute rushes that might cause unneeded stress in advance of
the simcha.
What if the order is damaged?
If the order is damaged in transit by USPS, then you must place a claim
with them for the insured amount. Contact us at once to see whether we can
provide a quick replacement for you!
Can I have the kippot delivered to my Post
Office Box?
Yes.
How long does shipping take?
Typical USPS shipping time will be about five working days, although this
slows down considerably during November and December.

Personalized Inscriptions
We can configure the personalized labels
many different ways, combining both English and Hebrew writing. Please
feel free to use our templates to help you decide on the wording for
your labels. We print the inscriptions in black onto a finely woven
cloth that is then affixed to the undersides of the kippot.
